Your reference to commercialism is a means to distract yourself of what you judge yourself and others of being or doing. In your culture buying great numbers of objects, objects that do not have meaning or lasting ability, only serve as another means to distract you from what you most seek in life.

What are you doing to assist the growth of your soul that you may successfully accomplish what you set out to do in this lifetime? If you are not focused on this accomplishment, then you are simply biding your time until you can no longer stay upon this planet, in your body. If you are wasting this precious time then you not only do not serve the good of all sentient beings, but also you are not serving the good of yourself, your family, or your world.

What would be a better use of the monies you work so long and so hard for? Creating a more beautiful environment, creating a more beautiful mind, creating a more beautiful friendship or relationship - all these would be a good use of your time and your efforts.

How then can this show or teach others of serving the good of all peoples? By being the example of the beauty you show in your outward persona others will seek to know what it is that you possess and how you came to embrace it.

Those that are hungry for moving out of their self-imposed prisons always look for the key to the locks that have subjugated them. There is your story of the prisoner who seeks his freedom always outside of his cell, outside of himself. Always looking outside the bars or his only source of light -- his window. When all he ever really needed was to turn toward another possibility, another choice, and realize his freedom was before him in the constant, open doorway. How true this parable is for all of you. By seeking your freedom outside yourself, by looking for your freedom where it is not, you miss seeing your freedom where it is.

If you wish to help others to find their good, to find their freedom, you must first realize where your freedom is. As you become the example of the goodness, compassion and love in your own life, others will seek to know this secret to what you have and you will then be able to share the mystery of creation with them. The mystery? The mystery is to seek the light from within and it will always light the path before you.
